01 · Context and challenges

Can you describe your company and the services you offer?

We are a fiduciary company based in Geneva, specialising in digital accounting, tax and HR services. Our services are aimed mainly at service companies, but we also work with businesses across a wide range of sectors.

What were your main accounting-management challenges before GeniusCount?

Our main challenge was digitising all of our fiduciary activities. We were looking for a tool able to centralise and automate every aspect of the profession, to manage files online and move our clients to fully digital processes. The shift from paper to digital was a strategic priority, both to optimise our internal operations and to give our clients simple, modern access to their documents.

Which manual processes were the most time-consuming or error-prone?

Entering accounting records was the most repetitive process: considerable time and a high risk of errors. We also had to wait for clients' paper binders, laboriously handle physical documents, and manage complex banking access. When a colleague was away, handing over files became complicated. Finally, using several accounting programs depending on client preferences added a layer of complexity that made management even more tedious.

What made you choose GeniusCount?

I tried several accounting programs and I'm convinced GeniusCount's approach is revolutionary. It's a genuine business-focused approach that centralises all of a firm's tasks. We're also fortunate to be GeniusCount's reference firm: development cycles are very short and I'm always surprised by how fast the software grows.

How did the rollout phase go? Did you run into any difficulties?

Far better than I expected! I was worried about getting to grips with new software without interrupting my day-to-day work, but everything went very smoothly. Setup took 15 minutes, then a GeniusCount expert guided me online for 1h15 to process a client's accounting with the software.

How long did it take to master the software and make it operational?

About three months to fully master it. At first I used it little, then more and more. The YouTube tutorials sometimes unblocked me, and I really appreciated the teams' responsiveness: a customer support that genuinely tries to help and reply quickly.

03 · Benefits and impact

What immediate changes did you notice?

Without hesitation, the acceleration of my bookkeeping. I also notice that the colleagues who use it are more motivated: they feel we want to make the work more enjoyable.

How much time do you save on accounting tasks?

Concretely, one of my clients' accounting used to take me 15 days and now takes only 4. So I save almost 75 % of bookkeeping data-entry time.

Have you seen a reduction in errors since automation?

Of course, it was one of the outcomes we expected from automation: it standardises the accounts used based on transaction labels.

How did GeniusCount improve the transparency of your profitability?

Previously, we knew our profitability only globally and roughly. Now we know exactly what profitability we have on each accounting and tax mandate. This lets us adjust our invoices accordingly when the timesheet shows more time invested than planned.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your satisfaction?

Honestly, 10/10. It's finally accounting software designed by accountants, offering a completely different methodology from the usual programs.

Would you recommend GeniusCount to other accounting firms? Why?

Of course! Especially since the price is truly affordable, even for the self-employed. This software will let every accounting firm, small or large, go digital effortlessly and stay competitive in an environment that increasingly champions artificial intelligence. Digitisation is now a competitive advantage on its way to becoming the norm: this shift is a deep necessity.

Which features are the most useful in your eyes?

Automatic accounting rules with built-in artificial intelligence, and digital archiving: thanks to OCR, my documents are pre-sorted and renamed automatically. I also make heavy use of the task-management app in the project pack, which lets me automate my workflows with the whole team.

05 · Results in figures

What percentage of your accounting-management time has been automated?

I save about 75 % of bookkeeping data-entry time, which is considerable.

Can you quantify the productivity gain?

On simple accounting that used to take me 4 hours, I now spend only one. And on complex accounting that took me around 120 hours, I now spend only 50. Thanks to automated data entry, one of the most time-consuming tasks, we can now consider taking on new clients.

06 · Vision future

How do you plan to keep using GeniusCount?

We now use GeniusCount for 100 % of our clients, around a hundred. We can't wait to use the new payroll app, which includes Swissdec and will save us a lot of time preparing salaries.

Are there projects where GeniusCount could play a key role?

Since we specialise in accounting for lawyers and notaries, we plan to offer them automated deed processing. It's a major project, in high demand from our clients.
